Mortgage Insider is expanding and we are looking for a reporter to join our newsroom. This is a fully remote role and suits someone who understands the importance of clear, accurate and timely reporting in New Zealand’s mortgage and financial advice industry.
We are looking for a reporter who can identify stories, speak to industry figures, analyse information and produce clean, concise copy to deadline.
The role involves covering lender announcements, adviser activity, regulatory developments, economic commentary and regional market trends.
You will work closely with the editorial team and contribute to daily news coverage that advisers and industry professionals rely on.
You will need strong writing skills, the ability to interpret information quickly and a commitment to accuracy.
Experience in journalism, financial services reporting or trade media is an advantage, but we are open to candidates who can demonstrate capability, judgement and a willingness to learn the sector.
Being comfortable interviewing spokespeople and dealing with source material is important. The role is fully remote, so you will need to work reliably and communicate clearly.
