BNZ has confirmed it will reduce its variable home loan rates by 15 basis points from Tuesday 3rd December, extending rate relief to both new and existing borrowers.
The bank’s standard variable rate will decrease from 5.99% to 5.84%, while its Rapid Repay, TotalMoney and Mortgage One products will each fall from 6.09% to 5.94%. The changes apply automatically from the effective date, with no action required from customers.
The decision follows recent moves by major banks to pass through lower funding costs after the latest official cash rate adjustment. BNZ said the shift ensures customers benefit quickly from easing rate conditions and aligns its products with current market dynamics.
The reduction is the latest in a series of pricing adjustments across the mortgage sector as lenders respond to softer wholesale rates and competitive pressure in the home loan market.
