AIA NZ appoints Jonathan Beale as head of strategic accounts

AIA NZ has appointed Jonathan Beale as head of strategic accounts, a newly established role within its distribution leadership team.

The insurer said the appointment underscores its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships and enhancing support for advisers across New Zealand.

Beale will lead the strategic accounts channel with a focus on innovation, growth and alignment with the company’s broader distribution strategy.

Beale brings more than 20 years of financial services experience, including senior leadership roles at AMP, Westpac and ASB. As GM Wealth at ASB, he oversaw advisory distribution, product development, asset management and KiwiSaver, earning multiple industry awards. Most recently, he served as managing director partnerships at Tower, where he helped secure key relationships with Kiwibank, TSB, NZHL and Ray White, among others.

Angela Busby, AIA NZ chief distribution officer, welcomed the appointment. “Jonathan’s appointment reflects our commitment to advisers and to the growth and value of our strategic partnerships. I’m confident that Jonathan’s proven track record and innovative mindset will make him a fantastic addition to the team.” She said the role is central to supporting advisers and expanding the company’s distribution reach.

Jonathan said he is looking forward to joining the business. “I am very excited to be joining the team at AIA NZ – a purpose driven organisation, true global brand and market leader. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to help innovate, grow and support advisers to build meaningful and rewarding relationships with their clients and with AIA.”

AIA NZ said Beale’s appointment will take effect from September 2025.
