Pallas Capital marks Christchurch office opening as demand for CRE debt rises

Pallas Capital has officially opened its new Christchurch office, hosting more than 40 consultants, borrower clients and brokers at an event on 26th March. The company said the opening reflects its continued expansion in New Zealand as demand grows for commercial real estate debt expertise.

Executive director and chief investment officer Dan Gallen thanked attendees and acknowledged the people who have supported Pallas Capital’s progress in the New Zealand market. He noted the rapid growth of the firm’s local team, saying it has expanded to meet increasing demand from borrowers, investors and brokers across the country.

The company has been operating in New Zealand for more than 2 years and said strengthening its presence in Christchurch will help it better serve local market needs. It said the city’s active property market, combined with ongoing demand for construction lending, makes the expansion particularly significant. The move also marks a return to Gallen’s hometown, which the firm said adds personal significance to its growth in the region.

Pallas Capital said it aims to continue supporting the local economy by deepening relationships and expanding its reach in Christchurch and beyond. The company said the opening evening reinforced the importance of local expertise and demonstrated the benefits of having a dedicated team on the ground to support borrowers and brokers.
